Welcome Back to Music!

Welcome back to another great year for Kemp music!  I am looking forward to working with your students this year.  This summer was very exciting for me.  I was able to complete my certification at the Kodaly Institute of Colorado.  “Kodaly” is a sequential method of teaching music that has three main objectives:

1.        To use singing as the main tool for music education.

2.       To be able to read, write, and create music.

3.       To learn folksongs and games from one’s country.

If you would like further information about how I teach music at Kemp, please visit the Kemp website by first going to the district website (www.acsd14.k12.co.us).  You will find Kemp’s website listed under elementary schools.  Then click on “Music Programs” for more information about music at Kemp.  You are also welcome to reach me by phone and   e-mail as listed below.  Thank you for your continuing support of music at Kemp!

 Choir is Back!

Choir is open to all 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders at Kemp who love to sing.  We will rehearse every Monday from 3:45-4:45.  If your child would like to be in choir, please have them attend the first rehearsal on Monday, September 26.  We will be in the music room at Kemp.  After the first rehearsal, your child can decide if they would like to join choir this year.  I will be choosing a small group from the Kemp choir to also be a part of the Commerce City Children’s Chorale.
