Former Principal Hanson (for which the school was named) speaks at the Grand Opening Ceremonies of the PK-8 transition.
HISTORY
May 2005 was the start of the conversion of Hanson Elementary School to Hanson PreK-8. The construction of a new addition to the old school was completed in January, 2006. According to Adams County School District 14's Education Matters 2004-05 Annual Report, the project came in on time and under budget. The expansion was completed in two phases:
Phase I included installing a new heating and cooling system for the school.
Phase II included adding four classrooms, two locker rooms, two restrooms, one music room, a health clinic and parent resource room.
Hanson officially added its final PK-8 component, the 8th Grade Level, in the 2007-2008 school year.
