Using the Internet

The Internet and World Wide Web have contributed to the use of the term, Information Literacy, and expanded the definition of general literacy to include accessing, organizing, presenting and sharing information using digital technologies. The Web offers vast resources and tools for creating lessons, conducting research, professional development, and disseminating and sharing information with colleagues, parents, students, and experts. What is it?

How do I access the videos & lessons?

Logon to unitedstreaming with your district 14 account, click on "Search", The videos include teacher guides and blackline masters for your use.

Google Earth and Discovery Education unitedstreaming™

Google and Discovery Education have teamed up to make it easier for K-12 educators to use technology in the classroom. We've created a series of lesson plans that use Discovery Education unitedstreaming and a couple of Google products, Earth and SketchUp, to teach social studies, language arts, math and geography. Available for elementary, middle and high school classrooms, these lessons are available for download right here on the Google for Educators site.
